Type Tea Party
Senior Capstone 2024
Type Tea Party is a typeface design exploration inspired by tea’s unique ability to connect people throughout the world through shared significance. This project was created for the 2024 Design Senior Capstone exhibition at the University of Texas at Austin. The four typefaces each highlight the diversity of flavor, texture, and brewing methods of a different kind of tea. The teas featured in this exhibition are: Chai, Earl Grey, Matcha, and Oolong.
The exhibition was designed to be an introduction to the world of tea, using typography as a tool to tell its complex story. All elements of the exhibition were hand-crafted to best fit the space and create a cohesive experience. The space featured four typeface specimen podiums, an interactive stamping station, and a tea-tasting setup.
